Busy week!

Wow! It has been such an awesome week!!! I'm not sure where to start! :)

On Tuesday I moved into the house that I will be sharing with two other American teachers....yaay! It was so exciting to get moved in and to finally feel like I am getting settled :) I will post pictures of the house soon so you can get an idea of where I am living.

On Thursday evening we welcomed a team of thirteen from Perth Australia.
They had been ministering in Manila and Isabella during the beginning of the week and finished up their trip here on Boracay.  Not only did they have really cool accents ;) But also compassionate hearts and lots of love to pour out to the people here.

On Friday we went to Panay and worked on the school.  We plastered walls and sifted cement for most of the morning.  The saying+ "Many hands makes light work" is very true!!!  (I managed to get most of the cement on myself, the ground or the people around me lol ;) )
In the afternoon we took them to Cold Springs which is a fresh water swimming area about 45 minutes outside of Caticlan.  It was very pretty and very refreshing! Just what we all needed after a hot morning of work!  Then we headed back to Carla in time to participate in the feeding site.

I met the most precious baby girl at the Carla feeding site!!! Her name is Amy and she is just 12 weeks old.  Her mother passed away shortly after giving birth to her.   She is the most beautiful little bundle I have ever seen!  I cuddled her for as long as I could! At the moment her extended family is looking after her.  When you think of it pray for Amy and her two year old brother Jared.

Sunday evening we bid farewell to our Australian friends.  It was so amazing to fellowship with them and to get to know each of them.  They really blessed us and it was sad see them go so soon!  ( If any of the Aussies are reading this- a huge thank you to everyone and we can't wait to have you back!)

My biggest prayer request right now is that I will become accustomed to the heat!  I do love the hot weather but it has been extremely muggy the past few days and I have felt a little challenged :)

I have had several people asking me for my address here in the Philippines and I finally have one!

Love to all!

Feeding site

This afternoon I went and helped at the feeding site in Salvadore.
We had about 50 children that came and participated.
We started by singing some kids songs...We teach them English songs with animated hand motions to keep the children entertained.
Then Teresa shared the story of Daniel in the Lions Den....They are focusing on prayer right now...and that story is an excellent example of the power of prayer :)
The children sit and listen so attentively.  They are all very well behaved.
Unfortunately I am having trouble loading pictures and videos...I am not very savvy when it comes to technical problems lol ;) But hopefully  I will figure it out and get them posted for you as soon as possible :)
I cannot say thank you enough to everyone who is prayerfully and financially supporting me to be here.  I could not do what I am doing without you all!!!!

Medical Mission in Yapak

Traveling by tricycle to Yapak
A large line of mostly women and children waiting to see the Dr.

Check ups

I always find the babies :)

Love these kids!!!!

There are Docters here from Atlanta Georgia that are doing a medical mission today and tomorrow in the town of Yapak.  I had the opportunity to serve with them today and it was AMAZING!!!!!
Over 100 people came through and they were given free medical exams and medication.
Most of the day I entertained children for their parents so they could concentrate on what they were doing.  Of course I was in heaven :) :)
It is very easy to communicate with the children because most of them can understand english and speak it as well.
I was so blessed to be able to help.

After they received their medication we would pray over them.  They were so grateful for everything we offered them!  What a blessing it was for me to be a part of the outreach!!!!
Thank you all so much for your prayers!!!  God is doing awesome things on Boracay!!

Taking care of a baby while her mother gets a check up

We prayed over everyone before they left

And then there were the roosters ;)

I heard the first rooster at 3:42am...I just smiled and rolled over.  It didn't bother me a bit because that sound made it definite that I am seriously here at last!!!!!!!

I boarded my last flight from Manila to Caticlan at 3:30pm.  It is the most beautiful flight! You look down and all you see is ocean and islands :)

Carla and Ellen (Teachers at the Agape school) were there to meet me when I landed.  My luggage had been sent by cargo and it was there waiting for me (such an answer to prayer as there had been some complications with my flights and there was a pretty good chance it had not been put on the flight from San Francisco..God is good!).
From the airport we took a Tricycle to the docks and then a Bonka boat on to Boracay.

I am staying in the Jungle Barn for the next month or so...just until the apartment opens up that I will be sharing with two other girls.

I made myself unpack before I dropped into bed- The jet-lag hit me just alittle bit last night :)

My job assignment for the next couple days it to "rest and recuperate"....Something that does not come easy to me.  Now that I am here I am ready to go!!!!  :)

I just want to say that God is so faithful and the trip here was amazing!  Even though I ran up against a few problems God gave me such a peace and each time everything worked out perfectly!
Thank you for your prayers!!!!
